 Favourite prime ministerial colour: blue

Dead Roo notes that the Prime Minister’s webpage has been redesigned and updated. Of course, the impending election has nothing at all to do with that sort of timing. A more realistic photo of The Man Of Steel now sits on the front page with noticeably less hair, more grey and more saggy skin on show that the previous photo.

Of course, the first thing I did was click on the link to the “kidZONE”, complete with funky capitalisation that all the kidz are doing now. My initial thought — dismissed immediately because I don’t want to be a cynical bastard — is that it’s kind of ironic that the PM’s department bothers to make a kids page when the PM has done all he can to make voting harder and harder for young people.

But I digress.

The kidZONE front page contains a funky logo and some simplified and kiddie-fied intro text:

Find out some Fast Facts about the Prime Minister that you maybe didn’t know, read about a what the PM does at work or look through the PM’s Photo Diary for typical month… Phew he sure is busy!

There’s also information about Parliament House plus links to sites designed just for kids where you can discover more. And if you feel like using your melon… you can have a go at the Kids Quiz too.

Using my melon? Gnarly, dude.

But let’s check out some fast facts about JHo:

What sports does the Prime Minister like?
Mr Howard loves cricket! He also likes to play golf and watch football - rugby league and AFL. St George Illawarra is his favourite rugby league team.

He followed the fortunes of the Socceroos at the World Cup in Germany in 2006 with close interest.

Here is Mr Howard following the fortunes of the Socceroos with close interest:

But if you think that question was probing, wait for these two:

What is the Prime Minister’s favourite food?
The Prime Minister loves Indian curries - but only if they’re not too spicy! – and of course loves to eat his vegetables. For dessert he likes to eat chocolate self-saucing pudding.

What is the Prime Minister’s favourite colour?
Blue.

Mild curries, vegetables, self-saucing pudding, blue. This is a man I will vote for when I grow up (as long as I remember to enrol before the election is called.)

What about the Rodent’s Man Of Steel’s photo diary?

Ugh. That’s enough. Getting nauseous — can’t go any further into this hideous website. Check it out if you must.

    LOL!

The Liberal Party website has been revamped redesigned too. Looks pretty gross in my opinion, but that’s just me.

Not really: it’s aimed at the education level of those most likely to be swayed by his politicking, without needing to get them to click on “the PM for Dummies”.

And remember kids - if you don’t eat your veggies like JHo you won’t grow up to be Prime Minister.

[…] is it with politicians and try-hard kids’ pages on their websites? GrodsCorp has looked at John Howard’s kidZONE before but that abomination looks positively cutting edge when compared […]
