John Howard’s personal doctor has spoken out about his concern for the Prime Minister, noting Mr Howard’s impending work load and the potential effects on his health.

“I fear for Mr Howard’s physical and mental wellbeing,” the doctor said. “With each poll result in the past few months showing huge gains for the Labor party and Mr Howard’s promise after each poll to ‘work harder’, I fear that this latest poll result will force Mr Howard to work himself to illness or death.”

Upon hearing the doctor’s comments opposition leader Kevin Rudd declared that the health warning would only make him “work harder” for the Australian people.

I wont shed a tear if the old fossil manages to work himself into the grave as this is the fate he has set for many Aussies with his pro business policies. I would hate to think he is planning to have a bludge in retirement using money supplied by the tax payers he so obviously despises.

Neither Howard nor Rudd have ever worked hard. Sitting in an air conditioned car while making deals on the mobile phone is not hard work. They are both swivel chair bureaucrats since the day they left school, with plenty of tax payer’s money to keep up the supply of pencil sharpeners. Hard work? Hardly. Apart from the odd ceremonial spade to “turn the first sod” of course, that must be back breaking.

Would you like to take up Rudd’s old job as Chief of Staff? Not easy work at all. And Howard is PM of this country. If you think that’s easy, you’re either drunk or an idiot.

John, you might have misunderstood, I was not referring to the long working hours, or the CPU usage in their brainware, no doubt they spend a lot of hours thinking/planning/negotiating, but thats not what I was referring to. They work in comfort (secretaries who make coffee, catered for lunch and dinners, air-con almost everywhere they are, polished leather chairs, etc.) and take home a huge pay packet while some other people are doing it real hard, if you know what I mean, and get next to nothing for it. Take any picture of JH or KR at work and hold it next to that and tell me who is having the harder work life?

And btw, to call people drunks or idiots for disagreeing is a sign of _________ (fill in the blanks). Re your question if I would take on JH or KR’s jobs? Sure, and the man in the above photos probably wouldn’t mind swapping either. But for some reason I get the feeling that neither JH nor KR would want to trade, I wonder why?

Who cares if they work in comfort? Lugging shit around on your head all day sounds like a crap job to me, I’m not going to hold it against anyone if they avoid that kind of work.
