Lervin’ ya blog, lervin’ ya concept of running and all that. But riddle me this? With your policies and views, Sir, why is it that haven’t joined up your local Socialist Left run ALP branch or joined the Greens.

Not that I wish to encourage either but it’s not like either are over-run with talent or smart people. And while I don’t agree with much of what you say, you do seem to say it well and with some passion. Unless you seek to travel down the Stephen Mayne road of statement candidacy, I’m really sure I see the point.

It’s possible to impact politics lots of ways, not just through running for office. But to my mind, running for office has to be about winning that office doesn’t it?

And you propose to run as a below the line ungrouped candidate, I presume? For all the thought and creativity you’ve brought to your kitchen table in the production of videos and all that, you’re making it awfully difficult for your constituency of latte sippers and nimbys to find you on the ballot and support you.

I’m sure you’ve considered all this before at length and I remember you explaining the inadequacies of the the various parties at the start but surely now it’s getting to be the business end of the season, it’s worth considering applying your (sadly, quite impressive) skills to a leftard cause capable of winning.
