Summer lovin’

Whenever I see those composite images of political opponents photoshopped to look like they’re facing off for war I can’t help but imagine that they’re just about to kiss. Today’s ABC Online image of John and Kevin is no different.

So given that there’s a definite summer feel in Melbourne’s air today, and that John and Kevin will election-lovin’ this summer, it’s time for some Summer Lovin’.

Summer lovin’ had me a blast

Summer lovin’, happened so fast

I met a girl crazy for me

I met a boy, cute as can be
Summer days driftin’ awayTo uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more

Did you get very far?
Tell me more, tell me more

Like, does he have a car?

She swam by me, she got a cramp

He went by me, got my suit damp

I saved her life, she nearly drowned

He showed off, splashing around
Summer sun, something’s begunBut uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more

Was it love at first sight?
Tell me more, tell me more

Did she put up a fight?

Took her bowlin’ in the Arcade

We went strollin’, drank lemonade

We made out under the dock

we stayed up until ten o’clock
Summer fling don’t mean a thingBut uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more

But you don’t gotta brag
Tell me more, tell me more

Cause he sounds like a drag

He got friendly, holdin’ my hand

Well she got friendly, down in the sand

He was sweet, just turned eighteen

Well she was good, you know what I mean
Summer heat, boy and girl meetBut uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more

How much dough did he spend?
Tell me more, tell me more

Could she get me a friend?

It turned colder, that’s where it ends

So I told her we’d still be friends

Then we made our true love vow

Wonder what she’s doin’ now
Summer dreams ripped at the seamsBut oh, those summer nights

ahahaha that’s terrible. you didn’t even change the words to have a political bent. the extra mile you went with the group photo at the end was doubly bad.

    A+

Keating: The Musical - eat your heart out. The Ed, quit your job. You’ve found your calling.

Just think of the time you spent formatting that post - and think of what else you might have been doing.

That’s a depressing thought. It was 20 degrees outside, apparently.

Really needs a “more-below-the-fold” me thinks. Pretty long post.

    Funny but.

    We need a follow-up, maybe…
    “Hopelessly I voted for you”
“Look at me, I’m Alex D.”
    or
“You’re the One Nation I Want”

    Fundamentally disturbing.

And also way too many pics of Abbott.

Ed, that was beautiful and horrible. We are all very proud.

    Oh, and Bridget? This:

    We need a follow-up, maybe…
    “Hopelessly I voted for you”
“Look at me, I’m Alex D.” or
“You’re the One Nation I Want”

    was freaking brilliant.

I second that motion about Bridget’s extreme LOL-ness.

This musical would never work. Apart from Gillard, and Downer when he gets “passionate”, there are way too many low voices.
You need to cast more chicks in this production. Not much of a choice in Canberra though.

Thank you, thank you, I’m here all week. Suggest you try the schnitzel.

    You’re a complete loony, Ed. I’m glad.
