Chaser’s arrest - the people have spoken

Of course, the problem isn’t that they did the stunt at all, it’s that they severely embarrassed the NSW police. New testimony has also come to light about how they were caught.
They were only caught after they reached the edge of what they thought was the security zone, they were beginning to turn around anyway, and the police only apprehended them when Chas stepped out dressed as Osama.
Theoretically they could have kept on going past the third checkpoint (and how is this third checkpoint any better than the first two?) and caused a huge embarrassment - which is why the NSW police are so upset about this. It doesn’t prove their security measures are working at all, and they know it.
$300 million and defeated by a bunch of comedians from the ABC.
Nice.

I vote ‘hilarious’. They must have surprised themselves with how far they managed to get.
Oh, and have you checked out Samuel’s post on this? I don’t often agree with young Samuel, but we are of a mind on this topic.

Then, the NSW Police, embarrassed by the antics of a coupl’a comedians from the ABC, decided to show how competent they really are, by:
1. arresting a jaywalker in front of his 11 year-old son, trumping up charges like ‘resisting arrest’, ‘being in a restricted area’ and ‘not following orders from an un-badged police officer’ (or something),
2. beating up a protester while the press videotaped the officer kneading his torso with alternating fists after two of his colleagues had already secured him,
3. throwing a press photographer a few feet and landing her right on her ass, to the bewilderment of the rest of the press present, who weren’t involved in the protest and would normally enjoy media-independence from hostilities, even in real wars, and finally
4. picking up a group of ‘protesters’ who were sitting in Hyde Park having a coffee, slamming them into one of the 31 prison buses, only to be released 20 minutes later when the police chief realised the arrest was completely indefensible.
Inquiry, pls? K thx.
