Reaction to Kevin Andrews’ African immigration comments

I was heading out to Kevin Andrews’ electorate in Eastern Melbourne this morning so I took my video camera hoping to get a few vox pops in response to his recent African immigration remarks. Most people on the streets of Templestowe were unaware of Andrews’ controversial comments, and those who did know about them were reluctant to talk about the subject of immigration, especially on camera. I did manage to get two people to share their thoughts on camera in addition to the independent candidate for the seat of Menzies, Dr Philip Nitschke. Click here to view the video if it doesn’t appear below.

Hickey and Pell have a great deal of difficulty assimilating into a modernist Australia, perhaps Kevin Andrews should stop people coming into Australia from the Vatican? (And maybe send them Tony Abbott).

People with Lego hair are clearly not assimilating.

Did you tell the old mate the 70% he was referring to was resettled refugees Vs total migrant intake. Of which refugees are about 10%.

Gotta love the sweet sound of Kevin A’s dog-whistle.
    Nice video, BTW Ed.

Didn’t get it but I haven’t used this address for ages so Hotmail has probably closed it. Were you trying to Paypal me large amounts of cash?

OK, I’ve reactivated it. Send it again if you feel inclined.

Damn it! I wanna know what Lego hair is!

Kevin Andrews’ hair looks like the snap-on hair of toy Lego characters.

No Lego in your youth Bruce? Where you a Duplo child?

Kevin Andrews looks like an starved action man doll that has been left in front of the fire. What a disgusting man.

Ahhh… No I had Lego. Lots of Lego. I just didn’t make the connection to Andrews.

Now you’ve soiled my childhood :-(

Already the bricks are making walls to confine the little yellow men.

I had Space Lego (several sets), ordinary lego and technic lego. I also had duplo, which when my back teeth were coming through I used as a rusk.

My back gums have been aching since you mentioned duplo dammit.

I had none of this, only books. I always wanted a Meccano set though; not sure what the hell I would have built with one.
