I made my comments on this on Andrew Leigh’s blog to follow up an earlier comment made there.

Nailed it. I can’t believe I missed Howard’s omission of “values” given his prior form on the topic.

Give your colleague a pat on the back for me would you, Ed?

Um, yeah. Elizabeth did mention that her son is into blogging.

Your mum’s cool. Ask her about the time she ran into me with her car, throwing me against the windscreen.

first thing nobody’s mum is cool or sexy!!! she’s a good mum and a bit of a character. that’s enough.

    she’s a fantastic grandmother too.

i was being silly about the bastard thing. she was here looking for herself on youtube and found it and wanted me to watch it. it was a tough call between that, studying for tomorrow’s italian exam and watching the judges dance on “so you think you can dance”. of course i chose the dancing and was very let down at how it was a total con. like you know it wasn’t even them but some idiots wearing masks made of their photos. lame. totally.

when i did finally come and watch it, i can study later, i noticed it was your page and i told her that i’ve seen you around the traps and read this site a few times.

i’ll bet you’re glad she mainly rides and walks to work now!!!!

She’s your Mum? I like her even more! I wanted to say to The Ed to hug her, but politely opted for back pat. Now you can give her a hug for me!

If The Ed feels a bit left out now, I’ll give him a virtual pat on the back for pertinent interviewing technique. *Gives back pat*

i think scott asked her one question then she rabbited on. his only other question was to finish a sentence which she did with a paragraph.

my mum is very passionate about children. she had 6 of them, starting with me when she was 20. then when the youngest was going to kinda she went to uni. she decided to to find out why is it that kids are so curious but after 1 or 2 years at school they lose that curiosity.

but after 1 or 2 years at school they lose that curiosity

Only because the traditional school system beats kids’ curiosity out of them. People like Elizabeth are trying to change that.

i agree that it can knock it out of kids. but what howard said doesn’t realise that school these days is far superior to my time there.

i have 6 kids (fertility is a congenital disorder) with the youngest starting prep next year and the oldest doing year 12 next year. what i really notice is how kids are incouraged to find things out and present reports that someone else would want to read. as bruce had to respond to el stalko (have you banned him from here yet scot?) it really is about life long learning.

of course my experience is limited to my kids’ schools and i think with moreland ps and brunswick sc we’re spoiled.
