    Its funny how Lachlan seems to be following the same trend of sitcomes as he gradually moves away from the original premise and into an emotionally-charged character drama.

    Wonder how Billy will get back into Lachlan’s good books (or maybe he won’t?!).

    Lets wait and see shall we.

    and thats not a criticism! i LIKE emotionally-charged character dramas (especially when the acting is so ‘genuine’;)

    The writing and acting is getting worse with each new episode and what are you going to do after next Saturday? Lachlan contemplating a piece of rope and a stout beam?

    I agree, Iain. This particular episode was conceived, written and shot in fifteen minutes — no exaggeration. There was a small, last-minute window of opportunity to shoot when “Billy” was available and we took advantage of it.

    And we’ve never claimed to be actors. We are the first to shake our heads and have a little chuckle at the “quality” of the performances.

    LCI started off with the following rules in order to make it as easy and painless as possible for everyone involved:
    * We had to be able to shoot six episodes in one afternoon;
    * I had to be able to import, edit, export and upload six episodes in one day; and
    * Nobody was under any obligation to rehearse scripts or learn lines.

    It’s been getting harder and harder to find the time to make this series as time goes by. By the middle of the year we were shooting one or two episodes whenever we could manage it, often with no pre-prepared script. It got to a point where we thought about letting LCI die a merciful death but we decided that it would be a shame to have got so close to the election and not finished it off. The Canberra episodes, however, were the total highlight of the series because for the first time we got four busy people with full time jobs and other commitments into the same place for two days with a dedicated purpose.

    In answer to your question about the future of Lachlan after Saturday — there will be an election party double episode and then an epilogue episode. Then Lachlan Connor, Independent will head off to the big cutting-room-floor in the sky. You can then rest easy and stop sniping about it.

    ps/- If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Simple.

    It may not be high drama - but given a choice between this and yokels spiriting around bush tracks in overgrown go-karts, give me Lachlan Connor, Independent!

    I actually do like both the idea and how you have actually done it over all. It’s Just the guy playing “Billy” just over acts so badly in this episode that you could have made Christmas dinner with the ham.

    If you don’t like car vids then I suggest that you don’t watch them

    Christ, give me LCI over Rudd @ Rove or Howard @ TodayTonite! At least theres some spontaneity and humour there!

    Lachlan Connor rocks!! it’s the sub par scripts and acting done tounge in cheek that makes it, if it had sub par scripts and acting done in earnest it would be home and away.
