God is a lying liar who lies

Danny Nalliah, proud recipient of the highly sought “Annual International Capitalism Award for Melbourne”, has exposed God as a big, fat liar.

Well, I believe with all my heart believe… that the Prime Minister [John Howard] will be re-elected to government. And also that the Federal Treasurer [Peter Costello] would be handed over the leadership.

[…]

Now this was something I knew because God spoke to me and told me very clearly a few days prior to the meeting with John Howard and Peter Costello — as to what was going to be the future of this country in the next election.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

You’re not trying to imply that Pastor Danny is a false prophet are you Ed?

Maybe he just got a bad line on the GodPhone that day.

    LOL.

You’ve really got to have a good hard look at yourself if even the Fundies First party thinks you’re too wacky.

You know, in all seriousness, I just cant picture Jesus as being right wing, I just can’t see him walking up to a beggar on the street and saying “…if your’e poor, it’s your own fault, you’ve made bad choices and God is right to punish you.”
    Just can’t see it.
Tried, the scenario just doesn’t play out that way for me.

I wonder if Family First are going to take to a safe-distance-me-tooism approach to the more progressive senators after their embarrassing exposure to elements of the radical right such as One Nation, Exclusive Brethren, Catch the Fire (odd that One Nation seems moderate here, no?).

Nah. They’ll have us kaking our pants next election as well. Just need to record and remind people of the lolz that occur between now and then.

Oh, and you are wrong. Neither God no Danny were lying. Danny was just mistaken about who was whispering in his ear.

The other possibility is that God did speak to Pastor Danny, but gave him bad info so that he’d look like a tool. I know that’s what I’d do in God’s shoes.

    Some useless information.

Stanley Bruce, the first Prime Minister to lose his seat after an election lost it due to:

Strikes of sugar mill workers in 1927, waterside workers in 1928, then of transport workers, timber industry workers and coal miners erupted in riots and lockouts in New South Wales in 1929. Bruce responded with a Maritime Industries Bill that was designed to do away with the Conciliation and Arbitration Court and return arbitration powers to the States.

On 10 September 1929, Billy Hughes and five other Nationalist members joined Labor in voting against the Bill. The Bill was lost 34 votes to 35 when Littleton Groom, the Speaker, abstained, bringing down the Bruce–Page government and sending Australians to the polls in the 1929 election just one year after the Nationalists won the 1928 election. Labor won a landslide victory and Bruce lost his own seat to Labor’s Ted Holloway. He was the first Australian Prime Minister to suffer this fate.

He was succeeded by my nom de plume James Scullin. Jame’s nieces lived in the house next door to me and lived to a ripe old age.

The second PM to lose his seat arguably due to Industrial Relations laws was Johnny Howard. HIs relatives don’t live near me but is it a coincidence why they both lost their seats?
