“I’ve got indigenous friends, but…”

AWH’s resident fruit-loop KG is an expert on all things indigenous - he’s lived, worked and travelled with them (hard not to forget; he constantly tells the world) so he is a source of great wisdom and authority on the topic. Today he informs indigenous Australians that this morning’s ‘Sorry’ doesn’t mean jack … and that he and his wife have done far more to help them than any government:

You’ve shown my beloved wife your affection and boundless hospitality and generosity and in return she cared for your wounds and your sick children, at the cost of her own health and the chance to advance further in her chosen career. More than once she risked her life and considered it a small price to pay for the joy your company brought her.

How very noble: she should be knighted in the Queen’s Birthday honours. Now I can’t speak for Mrs KG, since it’s her husband doing the talking, but note the thinly-veiled barb about her health and how she sacrificed advancement in “her chosen career”. Wouldn’t a true friend of the Aboriginal people consider such service an honour, a life fulfilled, instead of carping about hardships and lost opportunities? You didn’t hear Fred Hollows whinging about living in tents and shacks in Eritrea, missing out on the squillions he could’ve made in private practice. KG’s stock on the sainthood exchange just dropped a few points.

The apology of this Gummint doesn’t speak for us, any more than it is offered sincerely to you, our friends. It’s just more Gummint Business, and we both know what that means, eh, blackfellas. Pass me a beer, Bangleesh and to hell with ‘em.

The hand of tolerance and friendship was offered to a quarter-million Australians today - tokenistic or not it was an unprecedented step - and all this bigoted gollum can do is lurk in the shadows, whispering “Psst! Don’t believe them! They liiiiiee!” I’d like to see KG stand before those women weeping on the lawns of Parliament House today and tell them it was a cynical, meaningless gesture. Let’s see how many blackfella friends he has then.

Well said, Bridgit. I love his subtle inclusion of the word “Gummint” too.

“KG nice whitefella, only use firestick on leftfella, eh buddah?”

    Condescending fuck.

He he. It always comes back to that somehow.

A mate of mine is standing in the kitchen now telling me that about the emotion on the lawns at parliament today. He reckons that people were saying this is the most significant day ever in Aboriginal politics, maybe even moreso than Mabo. He was there - while KG was sitting at his computer.

I wholeheartedly agree with Ant - I think the most offensive part of KG’s comment was the undisguised paternalism.

Don’t you worry your ignorant black brain about this apology - it’s ‘Gummit business’ and beyond your understanding. Lets just get drunk instead eh?

    Racist cunt.

In his next post he’ll be on about “get rid of the booze, the pr0n and the petrol and those blackfellas will have no choice but to pull their socks up and get jobs.”

perhaps if I picked KG up and swung him by the ankles I could slap wilson tuckey across the face with him.

I live near Redfern. I’m one up on you.

I read that tripe earlier today. Disgusting.

It doesn’t have to mean something to racist arsewipes like him, at the very least it just needs to mean something to the people to whom the apology was directed.

And clearly it did. That, above everything else, is the most important thing, not whether or not he and his wife have been “friends” to the blackfella. If you have to point out that your “friends” are different to you (and that that makes you somehow a better person - no condescension in that!), maybe you should rethink that “friendship”.

Let’s have a look at what KG’s mate has to say about today:

…If aboriginals are too lazy, too genetically stupid and too uncaring to look after kids properly, get an education, work for a living or do their part for the good of the proud Western culture that replaced their useless one and from which they benefit then they matter not to me.

    Spit.

I have no response to that.

Yeah, it pretty much says it all doesn’t it. How very worrying and very sad.

You couldn’t get a more cracked blogroll - the local branch of the SA, the condescending whitefella, the pseudo-intellect, the jobless cretin and the teenage online war-gamer. It’s a wonder Jack van Tongeren, Terry McVeigh and the Westboro Baptist Church aren’t also listed.

Which one is pink, that DOD character is indeed a nut. He/her has started blogging after being inspired by AWH. I followed your link and noticed this completely off-topic comment:

“Isnt it ironic that the poofs catch AIDS more than normal people. Draw whatever paralels you need to.”

    What the fuck?

the term detritus springs to mind, sites like that (and the shit expressed on them) is best described by the term miasma.

How can KG pretend to be on their side when he’s been pictured with one - I’m no “scientician”, but taking a picture of an indigenous person steals their spirit, right?

I can’t blog because Asians made my computer at I am currently at large.

BTW, a big thanks go out to Dr Ray for putting me up last week.
