I don’t see what the gun culture in the United States has to do with all these shooting massacres, John. You’d have to be pretty stupid to make any kind of connection. Have you learnt nothing from reading AWH?

you know this week we had this big gun expo thingy near here, kind of a forum for gun-psychos, gun-lobbyists and spin doctors from the killing industry to meet and share their deranged views.
There were a few protestors of course, two of them went a step further and chained themselves to a railing inside this shit eating event.
You should have heard the local media beat up about it, it makes me sick that I live in such a redneck area it really does.
Who in their right mind would want an event like that ANYWHERE near them? Too stupid for words.

Good on Bob Brown, there is no possible justification for hand-guns in the posession of private citizens (even their role in policing is disputable).
Hand guns are not hunting weapons, they are for killing human beings.
I’ll concede a role for firearms in the military and in very select agricultural situations for vermin control, but beyond that, they have no place whatsoever.
They certainly do not belong in the hands of private citizens.

Krypto, I think what you fail to understand is the need for some men with extremely small penises to feel more masculine. These poor tortured souls have so few ways to assert their gender identity, please don’t try to take guns away from them as well.

Bruce there is a device called a “bolt gun” (as used by the fictitius Anton Chigur in the movie and book “no country for old men”) it is purpose designed for killing large animals humanely (it was designed for use in abattoirs).
It differs from firearms in that it is not a projectile weapon, there is zero potential for someone to go on a shooting rampage with one.
Obviously possesion of such a device would have to be licenced and regulated.

No, it wasn’t AWH, Bron. I’m the prick who deleted Krypto’s comment. I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me … in future I’ll allow all death threats to stand.

Actually, even though the post I wrote was anti-guns, I’ve changed my mind and I now believe everyone should be issued with a hand gun, just in case they run into Sophie Mirabella.

it was most certainly NOT a death threat as you well know Ray, I merely suggested that a certain individual might use his beloved gun to make the world a better place…by turning it on himself.

let’s see if I can recall my words verbatim, I think what I said was;

“why don’t you do us all a solid and use that gun of yours to blow your peanut sized brain out the top of your six inch thick skull? you fartstain.”

It was definitely abusive, most certainly rude (which was the point) but I think an attempt at assisted suicide is a looooooooong bow to draw.
In any rate, do you seriously think even if he was suicidal a gun owner needs the slightest help from me to end his own life?

Seriously, I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me. It must have been the drugs. Here is my formal apology to Krypto, as presented to Parliament House earlier today:

For all the pain, sufferring, embarassment, humiliation and heartache I have caused you by deleting your well meaning comment, I am sorry.

For all the grief, angst and sorrow my actions have caused by denying you the right to free speech, I am sorry.

For implying your words may have been interpreted as a threat, or were just plain abusive and very upsetting to the recipient, I am sorry.

(That doesn’t mean there’ll be any compensation though)
