I announced during today’s GrodsCast that I’m giving up my filthy habit of reading insane wingnut blogs. Barely half a day has passed, and while I’m pleased to say I’m still clean, I must admit I’m struggling.
I’ve been keeping the withdrawals at bay by snacking on a fine, tahini-like paste of shit and gunpowder, but it’s a poor substitute for the real thing.
Thank heavens I still have this picture to remind me of better times.
Pray for me, friends.

I am trying to do the same thing with the Herald Sun web site comments. It’s so hard to look away though - like when someone on a talent show sings like a frog and you see a piss stain emerge in their pants as the nerves get the better of them. You hate it. You wish it didn’t happen. But you can’t look away.
You read one racist generalisation from a fucktard who window on the world is Today Tonight and you feel compelled to read more.
Part of you craves the the next person will be reasoned and intelligent, but the other half is a hoar gets offf on reading the work of nutjobs because it makes them realise that their life is pretty damn good.

I feel quite smug - I don’t have any problem switching off stupid racist blogs for days on end. Why? Because I know they’re just repeating the same thing over and over. It’s like daytime soap TV - miss several episodes, come back to it after the absence and the storyline will be where you left it.
Plus, I have Grods to keep me posted on the insane ramblings of the feeble-minded.

I can’t shake the feeling that one day I’m going to turn on the evening news and see MK, KG, Dr Tingtong etc. being hearded into the back of a paddywagon for weapons offenses and inciting hatred.
They wouldn’t last too long in prison I don’t think, there are some racist scum there, but they are pretty much protected because they are all in bike gangs, some wanna be try hard white supremist dingbat like the ones that frequent AWH wouldn’t last from one muster to the next.

Ant, if you make it through then we’ll need to hear about your strategies. I’m a shocker. I subscribe to feeds, get the shits with them, unsubscribe, then somehow find myself subscribed again.
