    But girls like it, Prophet.

  3.  Gravatar John Surname (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 11:11 am) #

Dare I say that this GrodsCast is among our best five?

  4.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 11:14 am) #

Big call, John, but it’s definitely up there.

  5.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 11:14 am) #

And I love how it’s so popular that you, Prophet and I are the only ones to comment on our work.

  6.  Gravatar John Surname (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 11:21 am) #

It’s long - I fancy everyone is still listening to it.

  7.  Gravatar Jeremy (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 11:39 am) #

    Ouch.

  8.  Gravatar Adam (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 12:03 pm) #

Nice work, I lolled at the South American soccer players indoctrinating our women & selling them heroin.

  9.  Gravatar Bruce (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 12:04 pm) #

Sorry… I fell asleep listening to it. Before 8pm..

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been getting up at 3am.

That guy who takes it upon himself to pick up the mX’s is a cunt.

The beauty of mX is that people leave it on seats for others to enjoy when they have nothing to read or an iPod to listen too and face half an hour with no distraction from other passengers.

Anyway where are the rubbish bins?

It is interesting though how people will virtually snatch it off your lap if they see you not reading it for more than 10 seconds.

  11.  Gravatar John Surname (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 12:55 pm) #

No mention of the incredible compression effect yet.

  12.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 1:13 pm) #

That’d be right. People bitch when there’s something wrong but are silent when it’s fixed. Leaches.

  13.  Gravatar Bron (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 1:49 pm) #

AHA!!! AHA!!! AAAAAHA! MR THE MADE A SPELLING MISTAKE!!

It’s “leeches”, I presume you’re after, Mr The, because “leaches” is “to be dissolved or passed out by a percolating liquid”.

    And you’re teaching our children?!

    AHA!

  14.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 1:55 pm) #

“To be dissolved or passed out by a percolating liquid” is exactly what I meant. Doesn’t it make sense to you?

  15.  Gravatar Bron (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 2:12 pm) #

Jeepers. Now the teachers are blatantly and shamelessly lying! (And by “lying”, I mean telling fibs, not lying down or anything. Just saying so you don’t twist my words around… again.)

    Bastard lefty teachers!

  16.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 2:14 pm) #

Its tuff when peeple just dont share you’re same levle of intelect and you cant get thru to them.

  17.  Gravatar Bron (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 2:43 pm) #

    your tellign me

Anyway, this MX you write of (I haven’t listened to the GrodCast yet), is that that lame-arse News Ltd rag that’s handed out to commuters every afternoon from about 3-5pm?

I think I read it once or twice but most of the articles were written by Matt Sun, who was pretty much simply plagiarising other folk. In fact, I recall reading somewhere that he was a “rising star” in journalism in the News Ltd stable, but got undone when caught doing something highly unethical - not sure what it was exactly, but it had something to do with fabricating quotes or stories or something. And plagiarising, I think. Could be wrong. All I do know is that he got demoted to writing fluff pieces for a free rag. Not very heartening.

Lesson for all our children: Never cheat.

  18.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 2:51 pm) #

    The very same rag, Bron.

  19.  Gravatar Damian (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 5:24 pm) #

I enjoyed this one, boys. Love the cardboard backbench. Noice.

PS Got episode five via iTunes first go. No dramas.

  20.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 5:53 pm) #

Sweeeet. Did it sound better to you, Damian?

  21.  Gravatar Damian (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 5:56 pm) #

Yep, didn’t need the volume at full to hear it, and it was all a little clearer, too. Backing music was excellent as usual.

  22.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 5:59 pm) #

    Yesssss! I am the technimalogical sound-io master!!!!1!!!!!

  23.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 6:01 pm) #

Bruce: “Sorry… I fell asleep listening to it. Before 8pm..”

That’s going to go in the testimonials list when I get around to making it.

  24.  Gravatar Keri (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 6:39 pm) #

Just thought you should know - your GrodCasts make my mother get naked.

  25.  Gravatar The Editor (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 6:42 pm) #

I have no response to that.

  26.  Gravatar Bruce (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 6:44 pm) #

That’s going to go in the testimonials list when I get around to making it.

You had better hurry up getting around to it, I’m about to fall asleep again! Goddamn early mornings (really, you aren’t boring me!)

  27.  Gravatar Keri (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 6:50 pm) #

I listen to them at my mothers house since she has the fastest internet connection, and every time I listen to it (It’s in her bedroom), she strips off and changes whilst I’m on the computer.

I still find it less disturbing than when she comes in and does the baby talk thing with her cats.

  28.  Gravatar John Surname (Wednesday 27 February 2008, 10:45 pm) #

It’s Prophet’s voice. The Editor was right!

  29.  Gravatar Chuck A. Spear (Thursday 28 February 2008, 1:49 am) #

Nice one team. The audio was way better than the Prodos podcast.

Seriously, it sounded good. I don’t care about what you said, I just care about the sound… it’s all about the sound.

  30.  Gravatar MrLefty (Thursday 28 February 2008, 12:39 pm) #

You know, since I started partaking in the podcast, visits to my actual blog have halved. I have a theory as to why.

  31.  Gravatar The Editor (Thursday 28 February 2008, 1:09 pm) #

Grods stats are also down, Jeremy. It must be because all of our readers are busy listening to the GrodsCast on repeat.

  32.  Gravatar Chuck A. Spear (Thursday 28 February 2008, 2:39 pm) #

I thought you were just joshing about having to wear the safety vest. I just walked the dog past the local primary school and the dude on yard duty was wearing a yellow safety vest. Why is it? Is it to protect the teacher, is it a safety beacon for kids who are being bullied? Is it OH&S? Is the playground more dangerous than a building site?

I for one think the amount of fluorescent clothing people have to wear these days is getting out of control. A few years back, it was only the emergency services and high priced Adidas sneakers that were fluoro, then it started on building sites and then the trend cross mutated through all unions (who the hell was getting the kickbacks?) to the private sector and precocious private school kids in Hawthorn. Now the Jim’s Mowing dude wears one while mowing Mrs Slate’s lawn. I mean what the hell is going to happen to him?

Apart from my subjective opinion on the matter I think it has become unsafe to wear a safety vest. Only because people see them everywhere and don’t pay attention to them anymore. Grey is just as safe now.

  33.  Gravatar Bruce (Thursday 28 February 2008, 4:27 pm) #

It must be because all of our readers are busy listening to the GrodsCast on repeat.

For me, it’s like valium addiction! Doubleplusmuchgood, benzodiazaperrif… ZZZZZ *snort* *drool*.

  34.  Gravatar Bruce (Thursday 28 February 2008, 4:28 pm) #

GrodsCast - Do not listen to while operating heavy machinery. ;-)

  35.  Gravatar Damian (Friday 29 February 2008, 8:55 am) #

Lefty, Ed, I have to report something odd. Since I started listening to the GrodsCast my site stats have actually gone up. This week they climbed about 30%.

    * This also coincides with getting a mention on Crikey, but hey.
** I talk in percentage points cos the actual numbers are just too big. Some extend into double digits.

  36.  Gravatar The Editor (Friday 29 February 2008, 8:56 am) #

You reader-stealing BASTARD! Give them BACK!

  37.  Gravatar Damian (Friday 29 February 2008, 9:14 am) #

Heh. Should see how many I stole from KG.

  38.  Gravatar Ant Rogenous (Sunday 2 March 2008, 5:25 pm) #

John Surname’s “fuck you, whoever you are” gets my nomination for best line this week.
