Similar political treatment (albeit without the ticketing issue - we've had that licked since the 80s). Urban sprawl is causing problems for the system (e.g. Greenwith) and obvious problems with routes aren't being fixed. The suburb of Greenwith is a good example of urban sprawl meets bad public transport and is probably a preview of what you'll be copping in those new areas that Melbourne is expanding into.
