I still can't work out what the fuss is all about. This arvo, while making a point of not buying any of them, I saw the Sydney on the front page of no less than three daily papers. I must have missed something. For mine, this is the kind of historical thingy that the likes of Howard would latch on to as an excuse for a week-long nationalist diversion.

Bridgit's response was indeed reasonable. Unreasonable would have been letting Ant do the HMAS Fleshlight photoshop he is itching to do.

Dave, it's a bit late now, but much lolz from me re your serious pseudonym. Is anyone else watching their feeds in anticipation of Aurora's next turd?

It could be a peace offering krypto. Drop the law suit and I'll give you this winning idea sort-of thing. It's sure to get him plenty of votes in "The Redneck Capital of the Country" - Wodonga.

Just noticed Dave, in that aerial shot the top seems to be more than a bit off-centre to the tower (look at the shadow). It could result in a bit of disappointment following initial entry - there'd be nowhere to go. Better make sure the Wanger lines it up properly when he builds it.

Brilliant, it's what 'donga needs (in more ways than one).

I think you or <strike>krypto</strike> AWOL should present this idea to the Mayor of Wodonga, Cr Rod WANGman post haste. I've got the headline already:

Wanger wants 'Big Fleshlight' for 'Donga

Kruddy also continually fucked up by referring to the ship as "the HMAS Sydney". It's either "HMAS Sydney" or "the Sydney", he sounded like a fool repeatedly messing up this little detail.
You're right Bridget, sad is the wrong word. Though it is kind of sad when a piece to life's jigsaw is found and changes things as you always knew them.

We grew up with this mystery and now, bang it's solved like that - throw out all your history books that mention it. In many ways the theories and mysteries make a better story than the reality. This wasn't the only Australian ship lost in WWII but the mystery made it legendary.

In time people will gloss over the fact that it was found and continue the mystique.

People still go on anout the five US Navy aircraft that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle. They were found a decade ago and it appears and it was foung they got lost and ran out of fuel. But people still go on about the "mystery" of Flight 19.

This story has raised a pet hate. Ship names should be italicised, but not the HMAS bit - HMAS Sydney

Loads of media organisations have got this wrong today.

You’re right Bridget, sad is the wrong word. Though it is kind of sad when a piece to life’s jigsaw is found and changes things as you always knew them.

We grew up with this mystery and now, bang it’s solved like that – throw out all your history books that mention it. In many ways the theories and mysteries make a better story than the reality. This wasn’t the only Australian ship lost in WWII but the mystery made it legendary.

In time people will gloss over the fact that it was found and continue the mystique.

speaking of absolute linguistic guffaws.
Check out this guy's response when I pull him up for using the wrong WORD in an entirely incorrect CONTEXT.
Apparently insisting people actually use words in their correct context makes me an "overeducated wanker".

I'm glad they found it. I wasn't sad. Next.

I reckon Krudd is going to be even worse than The Man Of Steel at popping up to give the Happy Feet Seal Of Approval (TM Tim Dunlop) at the slightest provocation.

It became an 'a' when we began pronouncing the H, unlike the French.
