How’s the heat?

It’s been another bloody scorcher here in Melbourne with the temperature hitting a bee’s dick under 40 degrees for the third or fourth day in a row. But as much as it’s been uncomfortable for average Melburnians, spare a thought for those people amongst us who sport a full coat of fur and for whom it’s been so very difficult to cool off. Normally when I get home from work Napoleon comes running down the hallway to greet me but this afternoon he didn’t move from his spot between the couches where he lay panting and lifeless.

So I threw a glass of water over him.

Try 13 days of over 35… And packing and moving home while in it…. Grumble…

Yeah, I don’t envy you poor Adelaide folk.

And I feel sorry about your heat as well.

    * Boom, tish! *

I didn’t realise you were from Adelaide Bruce.
I grew up in South Brighton, moved back there for a couple of years too.
Gee I miss the beach there.

Ed, just realised that poor wee Napolean appears to be related to my Penny.

Ouch. Now I pity your Melbourne comedy festival. Scouting talent further every year? ;-)

Gee I miss the beach there.

Recently Brighton’s dunes have been re-constructed by coastal protection. Too bad they are dredging/pumping from off the beach.

Plenty of clam shells on the beach to testify to the damage.

That Penny is one dang cute little cat there, Damian.

If you have ever liked cats in any way, I suggest you do.

Stop whinging about the heat. Try living in Sydney with its bloody humidity.

I’m dyyyyyying. (Well, when I leave my air-conditioned office, that is.)

People get ready coz a change is coming. I’ve given up on rain ever happening again, though.

Thanks for the vids John S. Very funny. I noticed this short one while i was looking.

Is this cat really dead and not sleeping at all as these people seem to imagine ?

I concentrated on the cat, not the heat, but the penny has now dropped. Has Boltblair hailed this weather as proof of warmening?

  14.  Gravatar Bron (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 11:55 am) #

Oh, I’m ready for the change, joe2, believe me. (Assuming you mean a COOL change).

Moved house this weekend just gone too, and although not as hot as Adelaide, the humidity was bloody disgusting. I’d rather it be hot than humid.

Wow. Are we running out of things to talk about if we’re talking about the weather? Quick, where’s the Fleshlight?

  15.  Gravatar Bron (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 11:58 am) #

Ah, Damian, that was my question about 34 seconds ago, which I neglected to put in my comment above.

Indeed, what do Bolta and Timmeh think of this?

Aaaaaand I was talking to this chick from Norway the other day, who said that normally the snow in her homeland doesn’t really melt til about April. But now, because of global warmening, the snow is melting by January/February, which is “completely abnormal”.

Bolt and Timmeh seem happy enough to take cold spells as evidence that global warming is a crock of shit, but they’re conspicuously quiet about it when we have unseasonable heat.

  17.  Gravatar Bron (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 12:09 pm) #

Is “unseasonable” a word? It just looks… wrong. Hmmm. Google time.

  18.  Gravatar Bron (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 12:11 pm) #

Yeah, it’s a word. Still looks wrong.

  19.  Gravatar keri (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 12:43 pm) #

Hot weather + shit hair = bad tempered Keri.

    Stupid warmening.

  20.  Gravatar Bron (Tuesday 18 March 2008, 12:55 pm) #

Ohhh, yeah, me too. Frizzy hair here, no matter how much gunk I put in it to make it frizz-less. Goddamned warmening.

“Wow. Are we running out of things to talk about if we’re talking about the weather? Quick, where’s the Fleshlight?”

So true Bron and cats. As a regular Joe, i ask you to consider these words from the famous Denis Leary song “Asshole”. Obviously, with no suggestions as to the good hearted nature of The Editors post.

“I walk around in the summer time saying “how about this heat?”

Leary vid here… takes a while to download. Worth it though.

Yeuuuugggghhhhh, just went outside to find some edible shit in this oxygen-deprived, humidity-drenched, God forsaken town of Shitney and now I’m all hot and cranky.

Oh wait, I was already cranky, if not hot. Never mind then.

Go Denis Leary. Great song that.

By the way, here in Canberra it’s (in cricket parlance) a simply marvelous day. It’s sunny and warm, but not too warm. There was a bit of a breeze about for a while, but not one of those hot ones. I just went for a walk to the post office and the fruit and veggie place: it’s beautiful out.

Mind you, it was a stinker on Saturday, and I was running around chasing a bloody footy all day. Probably would’ve been a nice day besides that.
