Groupthink food chain

If nothing else, the storm of RWDB indignation over Jeremy Sear’s parking ticket post has exposed the pecking order within the blog chain of righty groupthink.

At the top of the chain is Timmeh Blair who sparked the groupthinking.
Next in the chain is Andrew Bolt who, as Blair’s number one groupthinking partner, thunk along as usual with Blair.
And at the bottom of the chain are various bottom feeding and illiterate bloggers around regional Australia who desperately seek Blair and Bolt’s attention by furiously groupthinking with them.

Sear was just feeding the chooks.

ps/- Despite the order of the groupthink food chain, the results were interesting when Bolt and Blair fought to the death in a naked cage fight.

I’m emailing Rupert and telling him that you are using his images.

  2. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 11:30 am #Ant Rogenous

Ed, I think you meant to use this as the third pic.

  3. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 11:33 am #Chuck A. Spear

    LOL-ed.

  4. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 11:45 am #The Editor

    Duly updated, Ant.

  5. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 12:02 pm #Bron

If anything, more publicity for Jeremy’s blog. Now that’s fantastic!

  6. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 12:08 pm #Damian

I saw the commenters from Blair, and it’s to be expected, but I can’t believe that Bolt got involved, too.

  7. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 12:13 pm #Jeremy

I love the abusive “you sir are an absolute disgrace” emails he’s got his coterie sending to my work address.

He does have one point, though: that photograph on my bar profile really, really needs to be updated.

  8. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 12:50 pm #Wah

Did you see Bolt crapping on about Rudd taking credit for HMAS Sydney and his “self-indulgent” world trip?

Where was Bolt when Howard, the self-confessed cricket tragic” would have to go to London at the same time as the Ashes tour. Or hogging the limelight by taking over the Governor General’s duties at the Olympics and other events.

Or hugging the Kosovar refugees when they arrived - only to kick them out a year later.

  9. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 1:42 pm #Dave from Albury

Or hugging the Kosovar refugees when they arrived - only to kick them out a year later.

Hang on Wah, I’m confused now. Are you against the Gypsies or for them?

  10. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 1:47 pm #krypto

oh that’s great Jeremy, nice to see you’re drawing fire from skunks like Blair and Bolta.
A sure indication they consider you a threat.

I love the beard of semi-colons too Ant, that’s gold.

  11. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 1:52 pm #Wah

Be great if when Howard hugged them they cleaned his pockets out. Or did the old “throw the baby” trick.

  12. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 3:46 pm #Terry Wright

Why are these ‘bloggers’ referred to as journalists?

I am sure most real journalists would cringe to have their profession degraded with these buffoons. Just because they can type and the Murdoch rags are desperate enough to employ them, they are suddenly journalists. Sort of like desktop publishers call themselves graphic designers because they have MS Word with fonts, bold, italic and underline. If they relied on readership through the paper editions only, they would have been booted a long time ago.

Jeremy, I must say you are keeping very cool considering the bizarre attacks made on you. It is just beyond beliefs that your post can cause so much unrest amongst these people. All you did was publish an ID tag that is worn in public, much different than publishing your home address or work place email address.

I can hear the giggles now … children in a big adult world.

  13. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 3:56 pm #Bron

I agree with you Terry, I’m amazed at the rabble rousing caused by Blair and Bolt and whoever.

Making a mountain out of molehills, they are.

Re bloggers vs journalists - that’s like Piers Akerman’s blog where it says he is “one of Australia’s most respected” (sic) journalists, but when you leave a comment on his blog deriding his so-called journalistic integrity, he screeches that he’s a BLOGGER, not a journalist! Go figure.

  14. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 4:15 pm #Zombie Mao

    hahahahahahahaha

Its just too easy to provoke them.

    How fun.

  15. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 4:24 pm #Bridgit Gread

    Let me get this straight…

Jeremy is abused by a parking inspector so photographs him and publishes the picture, to hold him to account, but he is chided for this ‘attack’ by…

Tim Blair, who has twice has published Jeremy’s picture then sat on his hands while his slavering pack of mutts throws every insult and slander Jeremy’s way.

    Physician, heal thyself.

  16. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 4:39 pm #keri

You’re not actually looking for logic from them are you, Bridget?

  17. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 4:42 pm #Terry Wright

    Right on Bron;

How did Ackerman & Bolt get a gig on ABC;s Insiders?

    Interestingly; the panel spend most of their time arguing with them. One radical conservative needs 3 voices of logic just to balance the debate;

  18. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 4:59 pm #Dave from Albury

Allegedly they are there for ‘balance’. Rod Quantock said it best on Good News Week many years ago.

“The ABC couldn’t balance the right wing media in this country if it was being run by Lenin and Marx”

And that’s back in the days before they had culture warriors like Albrechtson on the board.

  19. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 5:02 pm #Damian

According to Janet, Marx and Lenin are running the fucken ABC!

  20. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 5:10 pm #Dave from Albury

Which only goes to show how correct poor old Rod was.

  21. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 5:22 pm #krypto

    Captain Snooze was right!!

  22. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 5:33 pm #Wah

You’re right Terry, News Ltd journos who blog suck!

  23. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 7:40 pm #EC

Jeremy, I can’t believe they’re sending emails to your work address!

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though, a close friend had her employers contacted by Andrew Bolt years ago to check if they knew she was doing voluntary stuff for Indymedia.

  24. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 7:53 pm #Terry Wright

a close friend had her employers contacted by Andrew Bolt years ago to check if they knew she was doing voluntary stuff for Indymedia

Really? More details if you could thanks EC

  25. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 8:31 pm #EC

Terry that’s about it really, he contacted her employer (a large non-profit organisation) wanting to know if she was involved in Indymedia. Her boss called her in and told her about AB’s questioning and basically said do what you want in your spare time just don’t compromise the image of the organisation.

She kept her job but understandably found the whole thing upsetting.

  26. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 8:33 pm #EC

Soz, that should read “wanting to know if the employer knew”. Tired.

  27. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 9:03 pm #Dave from Albury

Classy. Guys like Bolt and Ackerman are bullies pure and simple, it’s evident in the language that they use, the manner in which they mischaracterise opposing views and the way that they deal with their critics.

  28. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 9:20 pm #Wah

This whole Timmeh, Bolt, groupthink think was very confusing to me. but I have just spent a good bit looking at Jeremy’s Blog and the reactions from Timmeh and Bolt and find it all very disturbing.

I have only read Bolt’s columns on occasion but never his blogs. I am amazed he is allowed to use the Herald Sun web site to peddle his personal gripes - this goes way beyond op-ed writing (sorry guys you know all this).

And these rabid lackeys who do these guys’ dirty work for them would, in a former life, have been convicts who became wardens drunk on their new powers and under the mistaken beleive that they earned the respect of their masters - who knew that if you give someone a chance to escape their unbearable existence they’ll do anything.

    EC,
I knew a woman who lost a relatively senior position at Fairfax because of some kind of pressure, perhaps a threat of legal action, by Bolt. I don’t know the specifics, though she was a blogger before the word was even invented.

  29. Wednesday 19 March 2008, 11:18 pm #Suburban Marxist

Didn’t Bolt get someone sacked from their position at an educational insitution a few years ago because they dared to comment on his Blog during “worktime”?

So much for freedom of speech…

As for Timmeh, ugh…I’ve had a couple of friends defamed on that site, one of them a woman and the amount of sleazy, sexist comments posted by his stable of rabid stay-at-home-patriots was sickening. Made me wonder if the males amongst them had ever had a female partner, or if they did what their better halves would have thought about what they posted.

  30. Thursday 20 March 2008, 12:56 am #Mikey

Insiders deliberately is skewed conservative I think so they can point this out to cockheads like Henderson et al and tell them they have a voice on the convict BEEB too.

If Blair and Bolt danced together, who would lead?

  31. Thursday 20 March 2008, 9:26 am #Bron

Shit, now I’m too scared to leave any comments during my worktime.

No I’m not. Fuck you, Bolt, Blair et al. Try and stop me from exercising that thing you allege to hold so dear: Freedom of Speech.

    Fucking turds.

  32. Thursday 20 March 2008, 10:15 am #Dave from Albury

Careful Bron, keep that leftist hate under control.

  33. Thursday 20 March 2008, 10:31 am #Bron

    Hate? That was love.

  34. Thursday 20 March 2008, 10:56 am #Dave from Albury

Oh, well in that case feel free to continue your love unabated.

  35. Thursday 20 March 2008, 10:57 am #Terry Wright

what if you;re self employed or the business owner?

    Will he ring your clients?

  36. Thursday 20 March 2008, 11:04 am #Dave from Albury

What amazes me is that these overstuffed, overpaid windbags actually could be bothered being so petty. It takes time and effort to carry on with that juvenile bullshit that could be better spent on almost any other pursuit. What is wrong with them?

  37. Thursday 20 March 2008, 11:04 am #Bron

I wouldn’t put it past them, Terry, to ring the clients if they could get a list of clients’ numbers.

    Love youse all.

    A Commenter’s Tale of Woe

Be warned. If you leave enough comments that criticise (or mock) Bolt on his blog - and god forbid, you sometimes do it during work hours - he will play dirty. Not only did he drop massive hints on his blog about where I worked, once even saying “I could describe your desk if I wanted to”, but he even posted my whole name on the blog one day. Which he only had because it used to be part of my email address.

Silly me for thinking that he would act professionally.

That vile ;;;;;; man also did it (published what he thought was my work and my real name) which really bugged me. It is internet thuggery and a tactic only resorted to when you know you can’t answer questions or rebut logical argument sensibly.

Since then I only read, never comment - as much as I may have wanted to - especially at election time !!

Today I have popped my head out of the rabbit hole. Anyway, best go back into hiding now.

    As you were, troops.

  39. Thursday 20 March 2008, 2:49 pm #The Editor

Sorry to hear, ANM — that’s utterly barbaric. Please rest assured you’ll never find yourself treated like that around here.

  40. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:00 pm #Ant Rogenous

Amazing, isn’t it? Bolt and the other goons like him act in such an unethical way, then have the temerity to claim it’s “the left” that seeks to silence dissent and shut down debate.

    Utter, utter creeps.

  41. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:02 pm #Bron

It’s really disgusting how Bolt et al do this. Can’t fight an argument? Publish the damned’s name and be damned.

Yeah, real mature, those News Ltd bloggers.

  42. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:02 pm #Bron

Makes me see red, Ant. And that’s not just cos I’m a filthy Commie.

  43. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:07 pm #Chuck A. Spear

Is anyone else over at Bolt’s today taking teh piss out of him. I am. AND WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT BOLT?

  44. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:12 pm #Bron

I’ll throw up in my mouth if I visit Blot’s blog right now.

  45. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:15 pm #Ant Rogenous

And the contents of your mouth would still make better fodder for debate than what Bolt is dishing up. It’d probably smell nicer too.

  46. Thursday 20 March 2008, 3:17 pm #Bron

Considering it was a pastrami bagel, I’d say so too.
