 Just utterly laughable

Oh, the hilarity.

The Federal Opposition wants Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to use his upcoming meeting with United States President George W Bush to lobby the US to sign up to the Kyoto Protocol.

Bwah! Ha, ha, ha!

Mr Rudd arrives in Washington this morning… Opposition climate change spokesman Greg Hunt said Mr Rudd should… urge the US to follow Australia’s lead and sign Kyoto.

“When George W Bush came to Sydney they forgot to raise climate change,” he told Channel Seven.

“They” forgot to raise climate change? “They”? Is this “they” the ALP who were then in opposition and completely powerless to implement policy? And Greg Hunt is criticising them for not discussing Kyoto with Bush last year? (Actually, maybe Hunt was at the time all too aware that his joke of a Party were dead in the water come November.)

Is this the Greg Hunt that is a member of the party that was in power for eleven long years and never once put the word on the USA to sign Kyoto despite the close personal relationship between its leader and the US President?

Besides from being a Herculean backflip this is just further repudiation by the Liberal Party of everything that John Howard stood for and his policies driven by personal ideology.

Or they may just be finally breaking free from the shackles of John Howard’s dictatorship. No-one, but no-one, could say a damn thing that differed from Howard’s rule unless they were prepared to have a visit from Sen. Heffernan and/or the Tuckster.

I wonder if Heff or Tuck were anywhere near a certain Melbourne strip club at 1:30am this morning?

Poor ol’ Joy Hockey is sick of people like you, Ed:

Making fun of the Liberal party seems to be the new national sport, Joe Hockey has complained.

    […]

“Will everyone please stop bashing up the Liberal Party at the moment,” he said.

It’s really quite simple, Joe: stop your party acting like a bunch of muppets and the jokes will dry up.

    From Ant’s link:
Joe Hockey: “I think it’s in the national interest that the Liberal Party be a viable, feasible alternative government at state and federal level.”

We know this Joe … just waiting for it to happen.

Exactly (!), Terry. And as soon as the Libs start acting like that viable, feasible alternative we might stop giving them so much shit.

So after sucking America’s fleshlight and refusing to ratify Kyoto because America wouldn’t Mr Touchy Feely Nelson wants Rudd to do what Howard wouldn;t dream of. Fuck being in opposition is easy.

I like how they criticise Rudd for daring to do his job and meet world leaders when it was Howard who’d find a way to be in the UK when the Ashes were on.

The same people who said if Labor won we would be at war in America in which millions of Australians would die, or be forced fed McDonalds, will be absolutely spewing when they see pics of Rudd having a friendly chat with Bush by the fire - unless of course Bush does what Clinton did to Howard and leaves him outside in the rain (anyone remember that or did I dream it?).

The Daily Telegraph’s front page headlines screamed yesterday something about Rudd’s “holiday” for 17 days, whilst (sorry, Ant) some pensioners or whoever were left behind, suffering… I don’t know the full story, I couldn’t be arsed reading it. Just the fact that they were lambasting Rudd for going on a “holiday” (it’s not) for 17 days (so? He’s the fucking PRIME MINISTER - and a new one, so he HAS to go and meet other leaders, that’s protocol) reaffirmed just how fucking ridiculous NewsLtd rags are.

Who’d wanna work for NewsLtd anyway?

Ant: I couldn’t imagine anything worse

Bron: Being taken up the arse by a marauding horny wombat….

    Editor: Ouch!

I’m getting the flow of this thread now…
(After settling down from some exhaustive laughter)

You are shitting me. The Libs are actually complaining that the then opposition didn’t raise Kyoto with bush?

What the fuck? Are they fucking serious? Can they be any more of a fucking joke than they fucking are now?

Greg Hunt scares me. He’s like a big eager righty puppy the way he bounds into interviews then dribbles out complete utter tosh.
