They've got some good PR advisors, my feeling is. They've certainly attracted attention away from some of their more fundy policies with these moves. I asked Family First three months ago via their feedback page what their stance was on medically necessary termination, and have still to receive a response. And I hammed it up saying I loved their other policies trying to get an answer as well, so they didn't think I was a Greens member trying to find out what the scoop was. When you watch Fielding clowning around, it's hard to remember that he actually represents a malevolent, oppressive side of Australian politics. He seems so harmless! That's also how Johnny used to get away with ever nastier authoritarian policy - by looking like a harmless dork. Who could be scared of someone who looks like Rick Moranis, no matter what they do?
