What an age we live in. Today people aren’t content with merely reading the news, they also have a weird urge to crawl up out of the ground and soil the news with idiodic comments. Consider this comment about the 2020 Summit from The Age’s website:

In my view the most pressing issue of our time in terms of Australia’s identity is stopping the downward socialist spiral we are on, and preventing Chairman Rudd’s attempts at making Australia the 34th province of China.

His socialist bent is disturbing at the very least, most recently his universal childcare program that is obviously intended to imprint his socialist doctine (sic) on children straight out of the womb.

All hail Bolt!

I read something similar on the Daily Errorgraph page just now, and laughed:

Another PR stunt by Krudd to draw atttention from the sh*thole he has turned this country into. A bunch of self-important, clueless, wingbags pretending to know what will be good for Australia for or by 2020. This is the biggest wankfest since the sorry day committee forced that abhorent discriminatory day on us. There is not one honest, normal, ordindary, worthwhile person in the entire group - they are all only there to push their wierd green ideas without actually having a clue of it will work. And what if we adopt these ideas and they screw us up even more? Oh that’s ok its John Howards’ fault. Krudd - you should have stayed in China.

Rudd’s turned Australia into a shithole in less than 5 months? Wow. What an achievement.

Oh, and “wingbags”? A new term to adopt, you Grodster wingbags!

    And then there’s this:

I have a good idea. How about the chosen leader come up with his own original thought? Forgive me for thinking this was cleverly scheduled before the May budget so this clown might have something of substance to announce. Utterly clueless.

The thing is, I suspect people like Steve of Sydney would also accuse Rudd of pushing his own agenda if Rudd came up with his own original thoughts and that the people of Australia don’t get a say in any matter.

    One more.

How can people who do not understand the problems and difficulties of the middle and lower classes, possibly come up with solutions. Most of these people live a life-style most of us will never be accostomed to and patronisingly sit there telling us what is good for us. I’m sick to death of hearing about supermum Cate. When you speak about these rich superwomen, you should also tell us what assistance they have at home such as nanny, night-nanny, housekeeper, cook, etc that they have to get them there.
Posted by: Brett of Sydney 12:27pm today

Erm, isn’t Cate there on behalf of the Arts? Her role at the talkfest is not to tell the “middle and lower classes” what’s good for them.

What a way to twist the reason why Cate Blanchett is there.

It’s amazing the vitriol coming from people who used to accuse ‘Howard Haters’ of not being willing to accept the ‘will of the people’ as shown at election time.

Well guys, shoes on the other foot now, you don’t seem to keen to shut up and let the new guy govern.

The right in Australia at present are like a drug cheat who thinks they are have won an event just before they get hit with the news that their piss in the bottle tests are positive and they have become a laughing stock without knowing it.

Twelve years of talking rubbish and being backed up by Federal Ministers and hordes of rightwing staffers and oped writers is over and they are too blind to see it.

I actually forgot that the damn summit was on until I saw today’s coverage.

Those roads connecting the grampians and darwin direct arent gonna build themselves

  9.  Gravatar steve (Saturday 19 April 2008, 8:07 pm) #

Wingnuts building roads would be a sight to see.

  10.  Gravatar steve (Saturday 19 April 2008, 8:14 pm) #

I think that they would be better at demolishing structures than building them somehow.

Brendan Nelson says there is too many “elites” and not anough “battlers” in attendance. Warren Truss says there isnt enough farmers and David Flint says there arent enough monarchists. If the only thing this summit achieves is pissing off a few conservatives over a conversation with the hated “elite” then well done.

These retards would have had no problem with the Howard government co-opting big business unions to peddle pro-WankChoices propaganda before the election. Or the rodent using billions of public money for propaganda. Or the Sliberals running a hate and fear campaign against workers’ unions during the election campaign.

Ideological pursuit is perfectly OK with them. As long as it is their hateful fearful ideology being pursued.

One-eyed, they are. One-eyed trouser snakes.

Hugh Jackman is making a magnificent contribution, don’t you think? I reckon he’s the sort of guy we need guiding Australia’s future. What’s he there for again? And what’s with that leprechaun-look beard - ie a beard but no moustache? He looks like a kid with a fake beard.

“I’m sick to death of hearing about supermum Cate.” Brett of Sydney 12:27pm today

But I’m sure you would have been a fan of Supermum Jackie Kelly.

Well he didn’t have to wear it to the summit!

If Michael of Bankstown (in Bron’s comment) reckons Strayer is a shithole then maybe he should, like, GO AND LIVE IN RUSSIA!!1!!

  18.  Gravatar steve (Sunday 20 April 2008, 7:10 am) #

Damian, it is the last bastion of Liberal Party organisation the right wing blog comment replacing the tightly controlled letter to the editor of past days. But a mass exodus to anywhere anytime soon by these puppets would enhance orstraylya considerably.

It took just 2 responses from this escapee from the 1930s for me to turn off this morning’s “Insiders”.

So he didn’t rate as one of Oz’s 1000 best & brightest; not even by his überBoss.

Hell hath no fury like a NewsLtd Costello-exHoward Hugger scorned!

DeLiCa, Bolt’s mug is the reason I’ve never turned Insiders on.

    Dammit Damien,
You stole my idea about telling Michael to leave the country. Of course I stole this advice from the vacuumous RWDB windbags who were saying the same thing to all the “lefties” during the Howard regime, but that’s not the point.
    Damn you Damien, DAMN YOU.

I noticed bolt’s reference to his going to house auctions.

“Ducked out to the auction of another house I can’t afford”

I would like to know the areas in which he is house hunting. Well it wouldn’t be the suburban fringe.

Then I would invite him to go House hunting in Perth. It’s here the really outrageous House prices are.

    HUZZAH! TAKE THAT!

  24.  Gravatar Damian (Sunday 20 April 2008, 1:25 pm) #

Mao, I looked at Bolt’s blog earlier and all I saw was a squillion updates about the ideas summit. Bored, I tried Blair’s blog. Again, ideas summit ad nauseum with, wait for it, a link to Bolt.

(To be fair, I did spot a post at Bolt’s about China and Zimbabwe. One of the articles he cites mentions the actions of South African unions in attempting to block a shipment of arms bound for Zimbabwe. Bolt blasted the South African government for not stopping the shipment but couldn’t bring himself to praise the efforts of the unions. Still, at least he didn’t SNIP that bit from the post.)

Well may we all smirk about the RWDBattery and their attacks upon the summit.

Here in the inner south of Canberra our superior quality of life has been ruined by this influx of elites.

Last night I couldn’t find a frigging bar in Manuka or Kingston that wasn’t filled to the brim with elitist trash, all carrying on about who they rubbed shoulders with and Hugh’s mask and Kate’s baby.

My night ended early after some lefty lawyer from Melbourne cornered me in a trashy Green Square pick up joint and spent 30 minutes telling me that lying politicians should be jailed. It’s in their effing job description mate!

Then this morning the cafes were full with them.
I had to lower my standards and head north to Tillys for a 1/2 decent latte to sip upon in the company of sensibly shod women.

On the bright side, porn shops in Fyshwick are doing a roaring trade & my cocaine dealing buddy is ordering a new Massarati.

He reckons it should be held annually!

  26.  Gravatar Damian (Sunday 20 April 2008, 6:22 pm) #

Jack, I dunno what you’re on about. I guess I’m in a different Canberra, cos we didn’t even notice the bloody thing was on. And when I say “notice”, I may also mean “care”.
