The Editor’s a bit of a coffee nazi, what with a great love of the drink and a few years’ experience frothing the milk and grinding the beans. These last two weeks Ed’s been working for da man in Carlton only a cliche’s throw from Lygon St. According to common wisdom and Lonely Planet there should be an abundant supply of good coffee for reasonable prices in the vicinity. Why then, has Ed been suffering the worst run of burnt milk and bitter espresso in his recent lunch breaks since the last trip to Queensland? Why can’t a man go to the inner suburbs of Melbourne, pick five random coffee shops and get at least four coffees of satisfactory-to-great quality?
Why?
