Government upfront about pregnancy counselling

There is much to be condemned about Tony Abbott’s conflict of interest between his religion and his job, just as there is much to be condemned about the government’s blatant bias in excluding pro-choice organisations from its pregnancy counselling service’s advisory council. But one thing you can’t accuse the government of being is backward in declaring its bias. GrodsCorp can exclusively reveal the design of government advertisements for the anti-abortion pregnancy counselling service and it shows that women who contact the service will be under no illusions as to the nature of the advice they are likely to receive:

I hate the term pro-life because it implies people who are pro-choice are not pro-life.

In the 70’s those people who argued for the decriminalisation of abortion did so because they were pro life. As so many young women lost their lives in backyard abortion clinics.

It’s a health issue with moral overtones. I dislike the church being involved in this, but I can see why they are.

The church does deserve a voice in this issue, but not at the expense of the pro-choice lobby.

The Sydney Morning Herald’s Miranda Devine equated abortion to the killing in Iraq.

She repeated Tony Abbott’s misreporting (by a factor of 5) of the number of abortions in Australia. see:
