Bolta still silenced

On Monday Andrew Bolt once again repeated his conspiracy theory about how right-wingers’ free speech is being curtailed. Today Bolta lists all the ways that he will be silenced on the issue of the indigenous apology.

[If] you care at all what I think, I’ll be on:

* Perth’s 6PR at 7.30am (local time)

* Channel 9’s Today show at 7.50am

* Melbourne’s 3AW at 9.45am (if I can get to a phone).

* Brisbane’s 4BC at 10.45am (local time)

* Channel 9’s Mornings with Kerri-Anne aaround 10.50am

* Channel 7’s Today Tonight at 7.30pm (unless cutting room scissors go snip)

* Fox FM – I forget

As you can see, plenty of opportunities to make a fool of myself, and few to make sure I have a good think first.

Hang on… the commie left-wing media is silencing Bolta so much that he’s too busy to think about what he’s going to say?

What a wanker.

End of the world is nigh

Every day Andrew Bolt likes to create an open thread for his readers to crap on about whatever they wish in a safe, supervised place. I’ve always thought that open threads are the ultimate in lazy blogging — just like mockumentaries are the laziest form of filmmaking. Bolta usually writes something boring or something that is an attempt at wittery to introduce his open threads. Something like “Have your say here,” or “Give it your best shot here.” But today Bolta has gone into full conspiracy mode with this the-lefties-are-taking-over
-and-restricting-my-right-to-speak-despite-my-bi-weekly-newspaper-column-and-popular-blog
-and-regular-appearances-on-radio-programs-and-television-shows introduction
.

Say your say here, while free speech is still kind of possible.

What?

Family First stifles free speech

After GrodsCorp (along with Jeremy, Bruce and AV) linked to a horrid YouTube video of Family First candidate Jemma Tribe the other day, director Josh Reid’s YouTube channel’s hits went up 1000% as viewers took part in the democratic process by engaging with Jemma’s stated policies and values through the comments feature. A couple of hours ago when I checked there were about ten comments, most of which were negative about Family First and Jemma Tribe’s policies. Upon checking just now there were only two comments — both of which were positive — plus embedding and rating had been disabled.

Never accuse Family First of being unable to deal with criticism.

UPDATE (25/10): After reading this post and being confronted with his free speech-hating ways, Josh Reid has deleted the two fawning comments on the video from Family First staffers.
