Ray Martin: piano man

Oh, for the love of God! I thought he was gone for good but then he goes and announces yet another self-indulgent festival of Ray Martin the very important and influential journalist.

Ray Martin is set to spill the beans on his 40-year career in the media industry, after Random House won the bidding war for his autobiography.

Random House said the veteran broadcaster’s book was slated for a Christmas 2009 release, but would not disclose how much the deal was worth.

[...]

“It’s been a colourful, crowded journey,” Martin said. “A million miles, a hundred countries and a thousand stories.”

And won’t the background gossip on great moments in journalism like the Paxton disgrace, the fawning John Howard arselicking sessions, and the ethics-free chequebook journalism make great reading?

But I think my strongest memory of Ray Martin the journalist will be of Ray Martin the piano man.

Twat.
